Goodbye 2018, Welcome 2019!

As the holidays are quickly approaching, it is time to reflect on what has been a busy year for Allen Music Therapy.  For the first half of the year, owner and director Daniel was busy completing his graduate level music therapy studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.  Despite stepping back to complete these studies as well as a research project about clinical guitar techniques, operations continued at a reduced capacity.  This time saw the growth and expansion of the Good Vibes Group, numerous accomplished goals in individual sessions, and even a unique opportunity to complete a clinical placement in a correctional institution.  It was a fun time where lots of new skills were learned and developed.

August saw a significant change as Allen Music Therapy was relocated from Kitchener-Waterloo to Whitby.  This was done in order to fulfill a clinical opportunity that came up during the summer.  Since this move four months ago, Allen Music Therapy has expanded to serve Durham Region, Port Hope, and Peterborough.  This relocation also opened up the opportunity to work increasingly in long term care facilities, as well as with other client populations such as Deaf-Blind individuals.  This growth has allowed for the development of additional skills to help serve any and all clients who request music therapy services.

It has been a roller coaster year, but also a fun ride!  It has been amazing to see what has transpired this year, and 2019 is shaping up to be another adventure.  Thank you again to all of the wonderful supporters who have been there at every step along the way.  It could not be done without you.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season, as well as a prosperous 2019!
